Florida Solar Inc. has been harnessing the power of the sun since 1982. The Sanford based company sells solar heating systems for pools and has done more business than most of its competitors in Central Florida combined.

When Skip West, owner and founder of Florida Solar wanted to update his sales tools he came to Entertainment Technologies for guidance.

The typical sales presentation involved a sales representative coming to the home to discuss the advantages of solar power in heating a pool and preparing a customized estimate. The sales rep utilized a notebook full of information, facts, photos, endorsements and testimonials. However, it was cumbersome to manipulate. That's where ET came in.

After experiencing a typical sales presentation and evaluating the technology at hand a laptop presentation utilizing video and animation was decided upon. A completely interactive program was designed for the benefit of the viewer as well as the presenter.

Since every customer has specific wants and needs when it comes to pool temperature, accessories and swim cycles a series of informative screens were designed to help itemize the customer's desires.

Data collection and memory, custom animation, MPEG video, audio, and interactive estimate displays are all part of the presentation. A print function as well as a map program link was also included.

The program has been used for over 2 years with a significant equipment change along with a content update.
