MPEG 2 ENCODING
When EXTRA was creating their new set, they wanted a variety of monitors to display their highly recognizable logo. Extra turned to Alcorn McBride for the hardware and ET-Studios for their expertise in content preparation and MPEG2 encoding.
The series of animated graphic clips were prepared and delivered according to ET's specifications and then encoded as MPEG 2 files to play on the DVM2 unit. The trick during the encoding process was to make sure that the graphics remained seamless with no missing frames or jump cuts. After a series of quality control checks the files were loaded and programmed as requested by the show producer.
